News and Events

This seminar is intended to give the attendee practical knowledge about the use of Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) and its GNU equivalent GPG. The seminar is intended for anyone with the skill to use desktop applications to be able to securely sign and/or encrypt information such as emails or files

The seminar will first introduce the technology and provide hands on experience in using PGP. The seminar will then talk about the meaning of trusted communication and how to interpret the trust relationships that are formed. This will be followed by instructing attendees how they can avoid undermining the security that the technology offers. Finally recent developments about encryption, recommendations and alternatives will precede any questions the attendee may have about PGP being used in their organisation.

Although there are alternatives to Pretty Good Privacy, effective use of this technology can be performed as long as users understand what PGP can do and what the trust relationships really mean.
